Stewarding

As part of the KCC’s partnership with the Nature Conservancy of Canada in preserving and protecting Gaff Point, the KCC arranges for volunteer stewards to walk the trails of Gaff Point weekly from April through November.  (We also monitor Gaff in the winter months as weather permits.)  The purpose of these weekly walks is to make certain that the trials are in good shape for the many hikers who visit Gaff during those months and to alert NCC and the KCC of areas which may need immediate or future attention.

Are you interested in participating in this effort?  If so, the KCC could use your help.

It’s really very simple:

During a week of your choosing, you would take a walk on Gaff and, using a simple form devised by NCC and the KCC, report back on what you’ve noted on that day’s walk, passing that form on to Bob Buckley, the KCC’s Gaff Pt. Stewards Coordinator, via email. That’s it!  There is no further obligation, and you get to enjoy an always enjoyable walk on Gaff!

If you (or someone you know) might be interested in becoming a Gaff Point volunteer steward, please contact Bob Buckley rbbuckley1kcc@gmail.com
